Mission
Our mission is to build up the lives of those in our community through education initiatives and holistic community care.
Vision
To see our community in the district of Bunda in the region of Mara rise out of poverty and illiteracy and live 100% sustainably.
Our Team
Our team is from a wide variety of backgrounds. We're pastors, educators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, volunteers, and freelancers. What do we all have in common? Willing hearts and dedication to serve the children of God.
Philipo & Mary Buluba
Pastor Philipo Buluba was born and raised in Tanzania. He grew up in a society inflicted by chronic and extreme poverty. Despite many obstacles, Philipo's life was touched by Christ and he is now a pastor in his community.
As a pastor, Philipo desires to shepard his community well. For him, this means reaching out in love to unbelievers with the message of Christ and practically caring for his community. He hopes to see lives improved through the power of Christ, better education opportunities, and the economic development of his community.
Together with his wife Mary and friend Sam Leppänen from Canada, Philipo established JengoLife, NGO in 2013. With tenacity, grit, and the help of others, JengoLife's primary aim is to provide local children with school facilities and resources so they can continue their education. Through education and the holistic support of families, JengoLife hopes to see the district of Bunda in the region of Mara lifted out of poverty.
Tukiko & Stella Omoso
My name is Tukiko, a husband to Stella and a father of four lovely children. Raised up by a farmer, I experienced life that I didn’t want other people to experience. I grew up struggling with my studies due to financial difficulties but also after schools, I would walk more than 5km to fetch water. Living this life; I have always wanted a better life—for myself, my family and the community around me; I hated poverty and promised myself to fight it.
Being part of JengoLife has helped me touch lives of many people, improving their living standards, helping young girls go to school but also establishing different community projects like, boreholes, water filters as well as provision of basic needs.
I am very passionate towards what JengoLife seeks to accomplish and very happy to be a participant in this life changing journey.
Sam & Saara Leppänen
Sam Leppänen and his wife Saara helped found JengoLife in 2013. Sam lived and worked with the JengoLife team for a number of years, and now supports other NGOs and businesses across Africa. In helping launch JengoLife, Sam set up a donation system to ensure legal and safe transfers to JengoLife's cause. The JengoLife team is incredibly grateful for the support given by Sam.
Currently, Sam travels frequently visiting the businesses and NGOs he has helped launch across Africa. His wife Saara also runs an online bag company, which supports the NGOs they help run. If you're interested in donating to JengoLife and would like to speak with Sam, you can contact him using one of the links below.
Our Goals
JengoLife recognizes that the holistic care of our community calls for much more than just focused efforts in one area of life. This is why we've set goals in a broad variety of categories including healthcare, telecommunication, and education.
